This workshop is for you.
The Script Doctor Is In: Ideas to Story to Screenplay is an introduction to screenwriting for PASC members aspiring to write their first short film. This session will be 3 hours long with a 15 min tea and coffee break.
In preparation for this session, bring questions around the following prompts:
Feedback on the viability of a short film idea
Deal with the age old question: what is your short film really about?
Do my characters walk through the plot rather than drive the plot?
How does one do exposition without being expositional?
Plus: Methods and tips for writing
About Dr. Shuchi Kothari
Dr Shuchi Kothari is a founding board member of PASC and critically acclaimed screenwriter and academic. She was the first Kiwi-Indian screenwriter to pen and produce an NZFC-funded feature film (Apron Strings), Shuchi Kothari writes and produces for film and television in New Zealand and India. She also heads the screen production programme at the University of Auckland and the designer and convenor of Episode One: Webseries Pilot Program.
