Rachel Keereweer

Rachael has 20 years' experience as an entertainment publicist for both television networks and production companies.

She started her career as a Billings Editor at TV3 in the days when television listing information was faxed out to publications. Over six years at TV3, she worked her way up to Senior Publicist and Acting Head of Publicity, launching some of the network’s most prolific and successful shows, including bro’Town and Outrageous Fortune.

In 2006 she moved into production and took on the role of Publicist for Shortland Street, New Zealand’s longest running, most successful serial drama. She spent nine years in this role and was behind the publicity strategies for some of Shortland Street’s most pivotal moments. She also managed and executed the campaigns for the 15th, 20th and 25th anniversaries of the show.

In 2016 she took on the role of Head of Communications at South Pacific Pictures where she managed a small in-house publicity team that took care of not only Shortland Street, but also all of the company’s other productions, including drama and comedy series, factual and reality shows and movies. Rachael has also worked closely with various international production companies on co-productions and has assisted with launch publicity campaigns for shows screening on international viewing platforms. In 2020 Rachael oversaw both unit and release publicity for This Town, the first local movie to release post-Covid lockdown. The movie went on to gross over $1 million dollars and spent three weeks at No 1 at the NZ box office.

In 2022, Rachael and her team oversaw the unit and launch publicity of 19 shows, across a broad range of genres. She finished up the year executing the launch publicity campaign for Duckrockers, a prequel comedy series based on the smash hit movie Sione’s Wedding. Her campaign for this series generated over $2.6 million in coverage across TV, print, radio and digital.

Since leaving SPP in early 2023, she has moved into freelance communications arena, working on projects across a broad range of industries. Clients include Watercare, Discovery/Warner Bros, Whitebait Productions, Great Southern TV, Tavake, Greenstone TV and Attitude TV.  For The Public Good, Rachael has managed publicity campaigns for Three’s Double Parked, Homebound 3.0, Far North (the #1 local show on ThreeNow), Friends Like Her as well as unit publicity for Attitude TV's second season of award-winning factual series Down for Love and Tavake Manu’s upcoming premium dramedy Madam.

Raegan Houldridge

Raegen has film and television in her blood, following in the footsteps of her mother, who held senior positions in marketing in the television industry in Australia and New Zealand. She began her career in publicity with roles at Network 10 and Hoyts Fox Columbia Tri-Star where her passion for publicity was formed.

She moved to New Zealand over 30 years ago, where she took on her first stint as Senior Publicist for New Zealand’s longest running drama series Shortland Street, responsible for seeing the show through its first major milestone – the 5th Anniversary as well as managing the corporate communications for the production company, South Pacific Picture and unit publicity on various other productions when required.

After just over five years in this role, she was recruited as Head of Publicity for TV One, running the team responsible for the publicity efforts across all local and international drama, local, factual and news and current affairs programming. Raegen was then head-hunted to take on the role of Head Of Publicity for the newly formed TV3, responsible for the publicity teams efforts for the network, its international and local programming, including news and current affairs, as well as the launch of music channel C4. She was responsible for the local programme launches of iconic local shows such as The Strip, Being Eve and Bro’Town to name a few. After six years in this role, she took a break from the world of publicity and went on to forge a successful career as a freelancer in Event Management, managing many high-profile events in the charity arena.

Missing the buzz of television, Raegen was then asked to cover maternity leave back at Shortland Street, an opportunity she jumped at. Following an internal promotion, Raegen went on to hold the role of Senior Publicist at South Pacific Pictures for a further eight years, managing the campaigns for the 25th and 30th Anniversaries, the profiles of its cast, as well as some of the most dramatic cliffhangers in the show’s history. Following her departure from South Pacific Pictures at the end of 2023 she has moved into the freelance arena, collaborating with clients Shanahan Management and Sky channel Country TV.

For The Public Good, Raegen has recently managed the publicity campaign for the New Zealand theatrical release of The Moon Is Upside Down, profile publicity for athlete and key-note speaker Freddie Bennett and launch events for the local drama series Friends Like Her and Dark City.
