The Vista Foundation 48Hours is the longest-running, and largest short film event in New Zealand. 2022 will be the 20th year of the competition. Filmmakers have just 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a film with a given genre and random elements.

The final film of the trilogy that includes critically acclaimed films Waru (NZIFF 2017) and Vai (2019), Kāinga features stories written and directed by 11 Kiwi Pan-Asian female filmmakers that chronicle the diverse, ever-changing experiences of Asians trying to make Aotearoa New Zealand their home.
Produced by a team that really believes in PASC kaupapa - Kerry Warkia, Kiel McNaughton and Shuchi Kothari (pasc co-founder) - Kāinga celebrates Asian experiences of generations past and present. Directed and/or written by what essentially feels like our whānau: Mei Lin Te Puea Hansen, Julie Zhu, Asuka Sylvie, Mia Maramara, Michelle Ang, Nahyeon Lee, Shreya Gejji, Yamin Tun, Ghazaleh Golbaksh, HASH, and Angeline Loo.
